LeGuin (1974) \nWe’ve been talking about this one for a while\, glad to see it won this month’s poll! “The Dispossessed” is a sci fi novel with incredible heart. Winner of the Nebula\, Hugo\, Locust\, and National Book Award in 1975\, “The Dispossessed” is a classic piece of literature that is considered by many to be a bookcase essential. *Wired* magazine called it “one of sci fi’s smartest books” last year and I agree. Starting May 29 with a ceremonial back tire dip in the Atlantic Ocean\, and ending August 13 with a front tire dip in the Pacific Ocean\, biking and building in between.  They will spend nights in churches and community centers along the route\, and thanks to the many volunteers your donation helps fund some of the homes they are working on.  Briqlie is trying to raise $6\,000 to get her on her trip! \n\n\n\n\n\nBriqlie started biking with Start the Cycle in it’s first year\, as she has grown she has stepped into a jr mentor role and while doing her own training for the 48 mile Ore to Shore in 2019\, she made sure her brother and some of their friends and teamates got to get some practice miles in as well. DESCRIPTION:I’ve been talking with Jordan McArleton at Northville Hills about a program he is setting up for this year. His “Player Development” program is aimed at giving instruction like he did with his college players he coached. The session will start with some range time for about an hour and then we move to the course to try and get 9 holes in with Jordan working with us along the way. The program works for any level of golfer. \nThis would be a trial session that I arranged for our group\, cost is only $40 and includes the range time\, cart\, and 9 holes (if we can get it in.) I thought we would be able to give him some good feedback on the program afterward. Since this would be a reduced rate\, Jordan asked that we bring cash or be able to venmo or paypal. \nThis seems like a great way to shake off the rust before the season gets going! \nAs with all of my events\, it would be great to be able to stick around afterward for a beer or soda either at the club or nearby place. Not required but its a great way to get to know each other.

Each story has to meet certain criteria that you can read up on at the editor’s website and are chosen without the author’s name attached. \nStories are selected by John Joseph Adams and a new guest editor (this year is Veronica Roth\, best-selling author of the ‘Divergent’ series and ‘Chosen Ones’. I recommend coming back around to the Introduction by Roth until you’ve read the stories\, it sometimes contains spoilers. The Preface is worth it\, for sure! SUMMARY:Learn How to Become a GREAT Property Manager
DESCRIPTION:Property management is much\, much more than screening tenants\, signing leases\, and fighting over security deposits. \nEach property is like its own business. You need to know how to manage that business PLUS a whole lot of legal restrictions and requirements unique to being a Landlord. There are also BAD Property Managers and GOOD Property Managers. We will challenge and teach you not only how to become a GOOD manager\, but how to become a GREAT Manager\, and in doing so\, will contribute to future success that you may not realize. \nDuring this fast paced and information filled 90 minute session\, we’ll cover the following topics: \n–The full and proper screening or testing of an applicant’s credit\, criminal history\, rental history and ability to pay.\n–Lease contracting or accepting rent using legal documents approved for the area in which the property is located.\n–Maintenance issues\, Contractors\, Building your Power Team.\n–Fair Housing.\nThere are many facets to this profession\, including managing the accounts and finances of the real estate properties\, and participating in or initiating litigation with tenants\, contractors and insurance agencies. Litigation is at times considered a separate function\, set aside for trained attorneys. Although a person will be responsible for this in his/her job description\, there may be an attorney working under a property manager. Special attention is given to landlord/tenant law and most commonly evictions\, non-payment\, harassment\, reduction of pre-arranged services\, and public nuisance are legal subjects that gain the most amount of attention from property managers.
