Crouch is always an interesting read and it looks like he’s taking us on another wild trip. Goodreads says it is “at once a relentless pageturner and an intricate science-fiction puzzlebox about time\, identity\, and memory”. \n“Recursion” revolves around two different stories\, an NYC cop investigating a debilitating new affliction dubbed False Memory Syndrome and a neuroscientist working on new technology. This should be an interesting character-driven narrative that will surely leave us thinking. Enjoy! \nTo join a Book Club meeting\, all you will need is YOURSELF. If you haven’t had a chance to finish the book\, we still would love for you to join us in the discussion. \n———– \nOne quick note that\, as some of you may know\, Meetup as removed the Polls option from their platform. SUMMARY:Smokey Mountain Fall Golf Trip
DESCRIPTION:Greetings\, \nI’m planning my next golf adventure…this time down to the amazing courses at Fairfield Glade. Fairfield Glade is in the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. The courses are second to none and in the fall are simply outstanding. There are 5 courses on the property and others very near by. \nThey are very booked and I want to see the fall colors so I am looking in the last 2 weeks of October. I have verified that there are openings beginning Sunday night the 25th so that is what I will start with. If more people prefer to include a weekend or the 3rd week in October I will see if I can change it. Weekend prices will be slightly higher. \nI have obtained pricing for four nights on site at the very nice condos with four rounds of golf. If the majority prefer 5 nights and 5 rounds we can do that. The golf condos(villas) are 2 bedrooms with 2 beds in each. I have prices for both single and double occupancy per room. Prices include everything….rooms\, golf\, carts\, taxes and fees. \nFairfield Glade is about an hour WNW of Knoxville and very close to the interstate. Bing Maps has it at about 550 miles and an 8.5 hour drive. We could looking into renting a van if enough people are interested. There are numerous places to dine on site and nearby. The average daily temperature in October is 67 degrees and October is one of the months with the least chance of precipitation. \nTo hold the golf villas there is a $50 deposit required. If you cancel the deposit is non-refundable. I would like to have this locked down in 2 weeks maximum or we run the risk of not finding availability. I’m looking at 4 nights and 4 golf courses. At this point there are rooms available but I don’t want to wait to much longer to book this. Please let me know if you are interested. Once I have a feel for how many want to go I will schedule tee times. Give it some serious thought\, it is another dream trip. I am open to taking a few passengers and car pooling.
