For the sixth year in a row will be reading the newest edition of a short story collection called The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy. It has been a Club favorite each year and takes a good look at the current state of science fiction by highlighting some new and established writers in the genre. Each story has to meet certain criteria that you can read up on at the editor’s website and are chosen without the author’s name attached. \nStories are selected by John Joseph Adams and a new guest editor (this year is Diana Gabaldon\, known for the wildly popular novel series and STARZ show “Outlander. \nLet us know in the Comments below which stories you like and feel free to skip one if you’re not digging it. There are always plenty of perspectives and approaches to the format in this collection. \n“The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2020” is available in paperback via Amazon and other online booksellers and is also available via the New York Public Library. \nTo join a Book Club meeting\, all you will need is YOURSELF. DESCRIPTION:Sport/Stunt kites are controlled by 2 lines which markedly increases the ability of the kite/kiter to fly in a HUGE amphitheater of space. If you ever thought you might like to try to fly a Sport/Stunt Kite then I will be introducing basic flight and “trick” instructions next week \nThe location is yet to be determined but probable fields will be either Flesher Field (off Stadium/9th St) or the Portage field off Oakland vs Texas Corners Park (Milham/Texas Drive) \nTime of event 4pm – 5:30 \nI do have a (limited) number of “loaner” Sport/Stunt kites but an RSVP is required to reserve one of the kites for you \nIf this event is of interest to you I Highly Recommend that you go to YouTube and do a search for “Zen sense how to fly a framed Sport/Stunt Kite” video which is ~ 17 minutes long and is a very nice introduction to basic flying techniques and some beginners tricks
