I’m going to be completely honest with you here and admit that I have not been doing a good job of promoting my business or myself lately. Here in Southwest Michigan we are currently striving to sustain our business in spite of restrictions and limitations that we all face.
Yes, I know that’s what you’re really here for, right? Well, you need to understand that what I’m about to share with you is absolutely ground-breaking, top-secret information that has the potential to increase your sales and/or your profits at a mind-boggling 100% ROI.
Three Marketing Lessons
So, what am I talking about? I’m talking about the power of smiling. Of course, this is going to take some time and effort to get used to and get into your muscle memory, but the potential of this strategy is HUGE.
When you think about it, you know how people feel good when they see or hear someone who smiles? Well, the same goes for you and your sales and marketing efforts. Remember, people will buy or sell your products or services when they see or hear things that move them.
We’re all familiar with the example of two people involved in a business transaction. One person is frowning and the other person is frowning at them. They’re both making their sales pitch to the other person, but the other person just looks at them with a straight face. Either of these people are failing at making themselves known.
Now, imagine the exact same scenario, except that one of the people is a smiling caricature of yourself. You’re smiling at someone, making your sales pitch, and their body language is showing that they’re interested.
Now, that’s what you’re aiming for. That’s what you’re aiming for when you go out and try to sell somebody else anything. You want to make sure that your body language makes people want to work with you. People will buy something they like. They won’t buy what they don’t like. They’ll buy what they find appealing. Your body language can help you achieve that, even if you’re not naturally giving off that smiley vibe. You’re aiming to make a prospect smile, no?
If you go home in Southwest Michigan after doing your “adventure” and the prospect is already smiling at you, then it’s probably a good choice. If they’re silent and the response is kind of meh, then you know you did something not quite right. You can do better next time with the whole “promoting my business” thing.
So, now that you’ve had a chance to know what you’re aiming for, now you can build a business and a life here in SW Michigan that will make people smile when they work with you. It’s all about using the correct marketing tools to make the correct sales people come out of hiding.
Don’t shoot yourself in the foot by not knowing the three marketing lessons above – Smiling, positive body language, and self reflection. Start planning your next marketing venture now, and make sure you know why you’re doing it and what you’re trying to accomplish.
